DESCRIPTION
Are you curious about zero-waste patterns and how they work? In this workshop, you’ll get an introduction to the cutting techniques behind the book Zero Waste Patterns by Birgitta Helmersson.
A zero waste pattern is a way of cutting out a garment so that all the fabric is used, leaving no waste. Instead of traditional paper pattern's you draw your pattern pieces directly onto your fabric with the help of instructions and small paper templates. This method allows for easy fit and design changes as well as making the pattern easy to adjust for different fabric widths and sizes.
In this workshop we will focus on the TEE pattern from the book using your own fabric. You will be guided in how to modify your pattern for your own size and chosen fabric width. The workshop focuses on the cutting methods so that you will gain the confidence to continue on your zero waste journey.
At the end of the class you will be given some tips on the sewing process of making the TEE which you can then take home to complete.
